Conversation Club Chatter

It is now official. Elliott and I are flying to Dallas and then driving to Stephenville to visit Bobby. Matt is coming in from Kentucky. We are staying Thurs, and leaving Monday afternoon. We will rent a car so Bobby won’t have to drive two hours to pick us up or take us to the airport. I hope to see all of you Thursday. I can’t believe it’s almost March already. I have a Litetracy conference, at Central tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it even though I’m really not familiar with the authors, I really enjoyed the movie ” This Means War”! It was very entertaining! It was a funny and Happy ending! I had a great weekend, last week, with Josh. He enjoyed it so much he asked his Dad when he could visit his Aunt and Uncle again.

Heading west

We leave at 8 am tomorrow, and like Maureen said, hopefully we won’t meet each other at the airport. It will mean our flight has been very, very delayed!!
Hope you had a great trip Maureen, looking forward to a report with photos! Kate, enjoy your mom’s bday festivities! See you all in March.

Sorry I haven’t seen the paint job

Maureen, sounds like the paint job is a success. I hope to see it soon. I have to admit I don’t really check movie ratings (PG, R etc). If it is oscar Worthy (un less its X rated) I go to it. I will check the ratings. I loved the Artist and enjoyed Decendents. I have to go out to the desk so I’ll check and continue in Comments.

pokagon get away

I went up there on Monday eve with a friend and then played brige all day Tuesday and Wednesday. Since I don’t play regularly and haven’t played duplicate bridge in 35 years there were occcasional errors but on the whole it went ok. One of the five sessions my partner and I came in second. I dropped my friend back at her house in Pierceton around 5:30 on Wednesday evening and headed home in the dark. Driving back was a bit of a drag partly because I got stopped by the sheriff for speeding. Fortunately it was just a warning ticket but I will need to cool my hot foot so I don’t get stopped again and have to pay big bucks. Drat those country roads. Apparently during the winter season all the state parks have a buy one evening and get one free for Sunday through Thursday nights. My share was $32 for two nights. We went swimming and there were lots of people up there relaxing by doing puzzles, playing scrabble etc. The toboggan slide is open only on the weekends. There was no snow on the ground but the slide is apparently refrigerated. The restaurant had pretty good food and we ate there for lunches and suppers.

How was Thursday night CC?

Sorry I wasn’t there.Any News?? Matt has been here, on and of, since Wed. night. He had two Basketball games in Ill so he was going back and forth. He is with us all dat to day and will watch the big game with us. I really enjoyed SB village and Experience, Tuesday. Now I’m enjoying the activities on TV, I had time for movies, this weekend, since Elliott was DT and I refused to be alone with 100, 000 people DT. I saw the Artist, The Big Miracle and One for the Money. The Artist I Recommend highly. It is definitely Oscar Worthy!!

From Souper to Super

We went to Second Helpings for soup tasting at their Souper Bowl Fundraiser… also bought a bowl. From there we went to the Super Bowl Village - we were there when the woman was suspended for 5 minutes while waiting to be rescued on the zip line. In reality the village was no big deal but we can say we were there! In fact we are going back Monday night to hear The Village People perform… they better do the YMCA because that is the only song I know. There also are fireworks at night.

The kitchen wall are finally stripped and washed. We decided on a paint color - the paint was going off sale so I couldn’t ask for CC input! A contractor is coming Monday to give me an estimate on drywall repair, putting in a recessed light… and if the price is right, I’ll even let him paint!

Land of Ice and Snow

Real winter exists, and after living in Indianapolis for over 30 years it seems sometimes like I have gone soft on all of this! Lots of blowing and drifting and icy roads on the way down to New Ulm from the airport, but now am warm and comfortable at my folk’s house!
Also, I return to Indy on Tuesday Jan 31 (not Wed 2/1 like I said at CC) so I will be able to have CC at my house, no problem, on Thursday February 2!
