I wonder why you are having a problem posting - so you are saying that you can write a post, but then when you click on “Quick Save” nothing happens?

Have been meaning to give this report!!

The “Brothers Hatfield” percussion concert Sunday before last was brilliant!  They packed the house, it was SRO!!  The variety of musical styles and percussion instruments made it enjoyable for everyone in attendance.  Matthew reprised “The Creston”, an extremely difficult marimba piece that he first performed 15 years ago ~ a real highlight of the show.  Taylor wrote an unbelievaly realistic piece that he played on three snare drums entitled “Surigao Stomp”.  He dedicated it to Grandpa Cherrington who fought in that battle in WWII ~ the sounds of the battle were perfectly sounded out by the fierce playing of the snares.  There were also hymns played, a “rag”, a beautiful sonata, an original song for marimba that Matthew wrote,  hand drums and the grand finale which was a drumset duel (written by Taylor) followed by an encore of improv marimba jazz and drumset!

I couldn’t have been more proud!!  And having my parents here for the first time in over 4 years to share this occasion with us was wonderful as well.

It Works!

I haven’t looked at our new site so I’m sure I’m not the first one to post, after Carol, but I’m home from Kentucky and so excited I could get in and post about the weekend. I enjoyed the drive, to Kentucky, with Elliott and Elsie. We got their about 5:30 PM. Rachel and Matt came much later. It rained, some of the day, but the ceremony was still great, especially when Bobby got his sash and Masters in Arts and Education. Also I enjoyed Ashley Judd’s Keynote Speech. Rachel’s Parents sat with us and after the ceremony we all took pictures and most of us went to lunch ( not Elliott or Elsie. They went home). I enjoyed getting to know Rachel’s parents. They left after lunch, Bobby had baseball practice and Matt worked on his Laptop. Rahcel and I had some great girl talk time which I will tell you aobut next CC. We also went to the Pinicle, which I will also tell you about. Today Matt, Rachel and I had a great Mother’s Day lunch at Don Paublo, on the way back to Indy. Bobby had to leave for Floriday, with his baseball team, at 8:30 AM. I’m spending tonight alone with Elliott. How was all of your Weekends?

I AM IN

I got in using my own name and password.  But I don’t see the “My Site”.  Now I just need to think of something to say.  I walked 5 miles this morning, had a morning snack - trying a new eating routine so I don’t get famished and start pigging out.  I then cleaned the family room - moved the sofa and then moved it back, washed the wood floor, and then went to the Blind School for more flowers and a planter for Dave’s aunt - I think prices are going down.  Turned out to be a nice day - here I kept expecting it to rain!

Everyone:  Try posting a new entry!

CarolFay can log in to leave a comment but cannot post a new entry.  I see that Maureen and Kate have also been able to post comments - but will you ladies please also try to post an actual entry?  You should be able to go to the old aqua (with boomerangs!) opening Conversation Club page and choose “Links” and then choose “NEW Conversation Club Login” and go from there with the instruction sheets Steve gave us.

Let me know what happens.  I guess either there will be a new post with your name, or else you can leave a comment to this post!  (The webmaster is in an all day class today, so I can’t call him for help - when he gets home this evening hopefully he can sort this all out!!)

Starting Over

This is the new, don’t know about improved, Conversation Club Chatter weblog. We are using new weblog software called Expression Engine. I have been using this for years and never had an issue like the current one with the Wordpress software. I was unable to get rid of the malware coming through the current weblog. By the time you read this, Carol will have given you all you need to access this new weblog.

Steve (still your webmaster)
