Did I over react? I need all your opinions!
After missing Thanksgiving, with us, Bobby finall got home yesterday, around 5:00, a little before I got home from work. Elliott and I expected him to have dinner with us, but NO! He tells us a friend called and he is going to dinner with her family! I lost it! I told him I wasn’t happy, in fact I was down right MAD. I didn’t bring up the fact that it was a holiday weekend and he was chosing to be with other people. I grumbled and rumbled and said “You will eat with us Sunday night!” I know he is an adult and can do what he wants to do but when it’s a holiday don’t you think Family comes first?? Any other time when we think he is going to be with us and changes plans I accept it!!! Let me know what you think! Was I wrong? He told Rachel I was throwing a Hissy Fit!

All is Quiet - Too Quiet
Hope everyone had enjoyable visits with family and friends over the past several days. Kevin did not make it out of Roanoke even though there were 30 seats open - fog in Charlotte prevented planes from landing or taking off. Jen drove to Roanoke, picked Kevin up and then they drove to Newport News to be with her family. Everyone (except perhaps Jen’s family) was disappointed.
After the 4.5 mile Drumstick Dash, showers and lunch we headed to Warsaw where we had a good visit and good food. I brought the grace that the “children” in the family wrote with my Mom years ago - spelling out Thanksgiving Day. I choked up when I read the lines my Mom came up with -America and what it is and could be, the Young people of all ages who are challenged to make our world a better place. Everyone left there Friday by early afternoon. We had Dave’s side of the family up Friday night for pizza and salad. Rachel left Saturday after a pumpkin pancake breakfast and now the house is quiet and activity level is low.

Another Sighting
I was a Marsh when I tall young striking gentleman walked past me with a young woman. It took me a second and then I said as they passed me ... I know you because my mind couldn’t process the name and I wasn’t quite sure. But yes it was ... David and Judy. I identified them without having Kate around to recognize. They mentioned that they had seen another CC member at Target.

Great weekend
I really enjoyed last weekend. First Barb, Judy, Donna and I went to Aunt Sue’s Tea House for Tea Group. It was in Marion, In. Then we went antique shopping. That night Elliott, Elsie, Bobby, Rachel and I saw Damn Yankees at North Central. It was very good. Then Bobby, Rachel, Elliott and I went for a late dinner. Sunday I just relaxed. I’m off today and planning to start my Jello mold and dip for tomorrow. I’m being lazy. Elliott is also off and we were hoping to do something together but he washed his cell phone in the washer so he had to order another phone!. It’s supposed to come by Fedex, today. We are still waiting and Elliott has a Pacer game! I’m staying home so I can get my mold and dip done and see if Jackie needs any help. Matt will be with us tomorrow, for Thanksgiving, at Jackie’s house. Bobby is going to Rachel’s family. What are all of you doing for thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving
Dave and I enjoyed the turkey and wine at the winery today! I wish I had talked all of you into going. We had a full turkey dinner and dessert with 6 wines. The “taste” glasses were rather generous so that we ended up with 3 glasses basically - 3 reds and 3 whites.. And since there was an empty place at our table with wine already poured we could have drank it also. There was enough food for seconds but neither Dave nor I had room. All for $25. Next year I am just going to have Kevin and Rachel bring their respective dates and make it our Thanksgiving so that we don’t have to worry about travel plans. We won’t know till Thanksgiving morning if Kevin and Jen will make it.
I hope the weather for Thanksgiving is like what we had today!
“My” painting is really good - I can even claim credit for a few strokes!

Colts Game
Did any of you stay up for the game?? I can’t believe they came back and won! I did stay up for it and I’m paying the price today! I’m at work, dragging!! Both Bobby and Matt were working at the game. Elliott stayed up to talk to Bobby. I just couldn’t make it so hopefully I’ll hear about what it was like to be on the Patriot side from him. I also saw the Pacers beat the Celtics. That was an exciting game, especially since the Celtics are really alot better than us, stats wise. they were 8-2. We were 3-3. This coming Saturday Elliott and I are going to the North Central musical, “Damn Yankees.”

Surprise
When I got home from my 3 mile walk this morning Rachel came out the front door - with Nick behind her. They came home to surprise me for my birthday on Monday. Dave had gone to his Dad’s church and had brought him back for brunch also. Lucky I keep a relatively neat house - that I had decided to go for a walk and wasn’t still in pj’s. Nick said he could also come for the Yuletide Concert on December 12th.

Doctor Referral?
Can anyone recommend an orthopedic doctor that has experience in shoulders - I think I am going to look into my options to take care of my shoulder pain since after 3 years it doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

biodiversity using native plants
I thought the speech last night was quite interesting. I know people who are into planting native plants but never quite understood what the fuss was about. Well Doug Tallamy advocated for choosing plants that support a variety of insects to feed the dwindling bird species and entire population ; diminish lawns and increase varieties of plants (especially native woody plants) to add oxygen to the atmosphere. He even had a website to help with making plant choices.
