Thanks, Susan, but…

my sister is really looking for the hangars that are just one wooden strip and a hook, no rungs.  I will bring one to next CC so you can see what I mean.  I appreciate you looking for them, though.  I imagine most people have thrown these out by now.

Flower funeral

As of Friday morning I will no longer be around to do the watering.  Taylor will try to come by several times to take care of a few select plants and shrubs and a young Japanese maple, but by and large it will be survival of the fittest.  I can’t ask anyone to tend the plants like I do when I am here.  Sooo, that’s about the size of it.  In some ways I will be relieved to have that burden lifted for the rest of the summer.  We will be home for three weeks, and then gone again on a trip to Seattle and Las Vegas.  So it just seems prudent to be done.  Sigh.

In better news, we are looking forward to our trip to Minnesota.  We will be at my brother’s up by Duluth the first weekend for the Cherrington family reunion,  Then next week in the cities visiting Steve’s dad.  The following weekend we will go to New Richland (my folks hometown) for a larger family reunion.  There’s a neat story attached to that town, I will tell you more at next CC, but briefly our good friends from Indy just moved there as Brian has become the pastor of my mother’s ancestral home church!  In fact, it is my Gr. Gr. Grandparents who donated a portion of their farmland to build the church in 1858. Small world!

Really enjoyed CC

it was great that everyone could be at CC, last night! I hope all of you enjoyed it as much as I did. It is nice to have a group to share life experiences, gossip, problems etc. I just had a thought. I’m going to The outlet Mall, near the Tearoom, in Edinburgh, In. Would any of you be interested in a CC outing in the Fall? Remeber we have done it before. I agree with Barb, it’s nice to mix it up when we meet and do something different than just meeting at our homes. How do all of you feel? I know we have gone to Starbucks and Boarders but fieldtrips are nice, don’t you think??

We just ate our first two tomatoes of the year. I water about every other day except the tomatoe in the hanging bag which gets a gallon every day. I am trying to conserve water in other ways…use paper plates; reuse the same glass all day; and my favorite…catch the water in the wash pan in the sink when rinsing or washing, transfering to a bucket and then using this “gray” water to flush the toilet.

Sue and Maureen. You decide

I think it will just be the three of us so Sue and Maureen, you decide if you want ice cream of starbucks. I will borrow Elliott’s Van, when you come, and we can go up the street. Then when we are done We will go back to my house to finish talking. That’s my plan, since I don’t have time to get anything. If you have a better idea let me know before I leave at 6:00. Barb, I think is still in Munster and Carol is just getting back.

I am going, after work, to pick up food to make tacos. We will probably watch the Baseball All Star game.Too bad only Carol will see the FB pictures of Jen’s parents. We did have a good time in St. Louiis. Let me know about Thurssday and we will talk more.

I am finally home!

We enjoyed the Wedding two weends ago, with Bobby and Rachel. Then last weekend we enjoyed our trip to St. Louis, with Matt, Jen and her parents. We saw a St. Louis- Pittsburgh game, in 99 degree weather, had a nice dinner with everyone then visited with everyone at Jen’s place. We came home Sunday and Monday morning I drove to Munster. I enjoyed Celebrating my birthday with my parents. We went to PF Chang (I had dinner, a Mojito and a free dessert). Then we saw the movie, “People Like Us” All three of us really enjoyed it. The next day I went, with my Mom, shopping for shoes, a Capri pant and a bathing suit. That night my Mom, Dad and I went to a really nice gambling boat in Michigan. I nit only broke even, on the slots, I actually won some money! One the 4th I spent some time, with my sister, watching a parade, where her friend’s children were in it. Again it was about 99 degrees. Tomorrow night, after work, Elliott and I are going to Terre Haute to watch Bobby’s team play ( again it will be very hot). Tonight I think I will just stay at home and relax after work. What are all of you doing this weekend. Maureen, I can’t believe you are riding your bike in this heat but maybe it’s cooler than sitting in it.

Just thought I’d start a new post.  My days are spent doing some combination of running, biking, and swimming - and drinking lots of water.  We are going to do the Firecracker Run on the 4th. - a 6 mile run downtown.
