Happy Sunny Monday!

This is beautiful January weather and it looks like the temperatures at least will stay pleasant this whole week.  Last year we didn’t get a break from the storms all through January and most of February.

I’ve been working on invitations for my dad’s 90th birthday party which will be at my younger sister’s house on February 14.  I’ll be making a quick trip up on the 12th and back on the 15th - need to have a couple of days to finalize things before we leave for Honolulu on the 18th.  The party has sort of mushroomed from family and a very few friends (about 25 people) to a broader definition of same!  The numbers are now a possible 50 guests - there is thought that we should have just gone to a party room in the local Holiday Inn!  Luckily my sister has a good sized house!

Hope everyone is having a good MLK, Jr day!

Some welcome

Nothing like some ice and snow to welcome me home from CA!  It was a great time…relatives ate dinner at “our” house 3 of the nights so it was almost like we were hosting and they were visiting.  Ok so one of the nights was leftovers to clean out the frig…
We did get a 35 mile bike ride in on the Santa Ana River bike trail…not a scenic trail but there were some nice parks at mile 10, 14, and we heard 20 but didn’t make it that far.
There were some snafus with the flights both ways for the kids but ours went smoothly.  We arrived home late Saturday night…thank goodness not Sunday with the ice.
Looking forward to spring…and seeing everyone Thurs

It’s 2015!

Doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue yet - the years go so fast that sometimes I have to really stop and think about it!  Christmas has come and gone, great visit with the Boys from Baltimore - they were here for a week.  The girls were in and out too.  Steve is leaving for his dad’s in the morning for a week.  He was in New York City Fri and Sat - took the notion to go see a show that is closing, one that he had always wanted to see and it wasn’t open yet when we were just in NY in September.  So he did the whirlwind trip - saw “Side Show”.  I have been putting Christmas things away, about all that’s left is my Snow Village.  Will do that this next week.

Wanted to mention that Gloria Worth’s lovely mother passed away on December 27 at the wonderful age of 102 1/2 yrs old!  Clear minded and sweet up to the end.  I will miss her very much.

Hope to see everyone at Susan’s - are we set for Thursday Jan 15th?
