Century Ride

The training paid off for our bike ride - we could still stand and walk after the ride, still had energy left - although that may have been due to all the caffeine in the various gels and drinks I was using!  Most of the roads had little traffic and nice shoulders although the surface of a few of the roads was rough pavement. Dave and I waited 1/2 a block from the finish line (since it was a ride and not a race) so that Kitty, Steve, Dave, and me could all cross together.  Don’t know that I want to kill the day cycling another 100 but I was glad I did it!  It took 7 1/2 hours of ride time and 2 hours of rest stops, our average speed was 13.6 mph
Now - what is our next challenge?

Home again

I am home and ok but now the ipad has stopped working. (Kara Help!) I think it picked up a bug at the hospital hotspot.. I am very tired because I didn’t get enough sleep last night…nurses woke me at 1:00a and 4:00a for labs and whatever.

Basically I am not supposed to do heavy lifting (10 lbs) nor overexertion for several days. I cannot swim for two weeks. The good news is my heart ejection percent is 70% (well above the expected 50%).  So once again I have not had a heart attack and my heart muscle is working well. The nurse practitioner could not answer what the odds were that I would have another significant blockage and need more stents. I see the cardiologist in a month. I am officially on a diet so no generous portions of our delicious deserts..

Vip pass

did you notice that Washington Township has passes to go to events for free? I always thought the plays and musicals were nearly professional level. Anyone know more about this for 60 year olds

Gold star for attendance

Maureen
No way would one suspect our veggies were in the desert. Quite excellent.
Looking forward to our 30th celebration in October…whatever we find to do.

Bummer bummer bummer

Rachel heard from Marie…her husband took a new job in Gainesville, FL so they will be moving in Sept/Oct.  My sister has started looking for a job there also.  I am so bummed!  kitty says this time she will probably rent.  We had all these bike rides planned for next year - to say nothing of meeting half way to get fresh organic blueberries.  The bright side i guess - I have some place other than CA to go for the winter.
other than that I rode 25 miles on Friday and Dave and I rode 53 today.See everyone on Wednesday.
