Looking to bring My Parents Here.

I started looking at Facilities here for Mom and Dad. I went to Markett Manor, The one at the corner of 86th & Township and Hooverwood. the problem is My Mom needs assisted living and Dad needs skilled nursing. he still has a feeding tube and needs constant care right now. I’m going back to Munster-Dyer This Thursday. I’m going to pay for at least one more month of Symphony Assisted Living for Mom.She is fighting it since it’s 4,000 a month. It has to be that way right now. Mom can’t stay by herself at the Condo. While I’m in Munster I’m going to Joliet, ill to see Bobby’s team play baseball. I’m going with Eddie and Josh.

Back from the North

Fun time at the reunion…drove almost 1800 miles up and back and all around Minnesota in 5 days!  Now I am trying to fend off the flu bug - 2 of the kids at the reunion had it on Sunday.  Right now the headache part has arrived…  Not going to commit to having CC here tomorrow (Wednesday) night, so if anyone else wants to go ahead with it that’s fine.  I am busy this Thursday evening, then we leave for New York City Tuesday August 2 and back on the 7th.  So I could have it on Wednesday the 10th at soonest.

Going to go lay down now…the unloading and putting away of everything I hauled in my van will have to wait.

Not So Unmotivated after all

my day started out very unmotivated - didn’t go to the 9:30 workout at the Y…but did do a 3 mile walk, 4 loads of laundry, made a loaf of bread, and…treated myself to a manicure and pedicure - haven’t had one since Rachel’s wedding!  Between the massage chair and the leg and foot massage i was in 7th heaven!  Needless to say, my plan to paint another wall when i got up went out the window…just going to chill out…
Chilling out sounds like the plan for the next several days if the forecast is accurate!
Next week is fine for me for CC…

Home and ready to go again

We had an eventful flight home last Wednesday…diverted from landing here due to the storm, instead flew to Evansville and the plane was struck by lightening!  Weird sensation….  but landed safely and we got off the plane for an hour or so - Delta treated us well with lots of food and drink till we boarded again and completed the flight up to Indy.  By the time we got our car and drove home, it was 11:30 pm, 12 hours since I had left my folks in New Ulm to drive back up to the cities to pick Steve up at his dad’s and go to the airport.  I can drive all the way here in about the same amount of time!

Today was Steve’s birthday and Ella’s is the 23rd, so we celebrated with a brunch here.  Steve flew back up to his dad’s this afternoon to be with him for the next skin cancer surgery tomorrow.  I will drive up to Minnesota on Thursday, as far as White Bear Lake where Steve is.  Taylor and Ella will also drive that day, but to make it fun they will only go halfway - staying in Madison, then drive the rest of the way to my brother’s by Duluth on Friday.  Delaney and Dakota will fly up on Friday morning, Steve and I will pick them up and then drive up north to my brother’s.  There will be about 30 of us at the Cherrington reunion this year!

Is there any consensus about Conversation Club this Tuesday?

When Next CC??

I will be in Minnesota until late night return flight on Wednesday the 13th - so having it here on the 14th won’t really work very well, even if everyone could come!

Then I leave again to drive back up to Minnesota on Thursday the 21st, back on Monday the 25th, Cherrington family reunion at my brother’s.  The usual science fair of travel to get us all up there….that takes a whole post of it’s own!

I could have it on Monday July 18 or Tuesday July 19 - do either of those dates work for you all?  Next trip is taking Ella to New York City August 2-7.

The 4th Goes ON

The rain caused us to go to plan B…Rachel, Zach, Dave, and I had dinnerSaturday in a very festive dining room - all of our picnic food…red, white, and blue themed of course…even put the canned whip cream onto of the pound cake with the fruit.  We opted out of Symphony on the Prairie and played scrabble in the gazebo and then watched the movie Finest Hour about a Coast Guard Rescue in the 50’s.  Amazingly accurate…the girlfriend was his wife in real life and home sick in bed with the flu while he was out at sea with the rescue operation…but that would have been rather boring for a movie so they altered that a bit.
Monday, which actually felt like Sunday…we had a crepes with ricotta cheese topped with a fruit berry sauce, a fruit parfait made with Greek yogurt, oats, and chia seeds, and danish with berries.  Dave, Rachel, and Zach got a run in before the kids headed back to Cincy.
Now to adjust to the week trying to figure out what day it is…
