New Website in the Works….

Steve is working on the new site, since this one is giving us problems with commenting.  We will also be able to post photos now, which is nice since we are so spread out and need to keep in touch.  When it is all set up, I’ll send out information.

I had a good week at my folks in New Ulm, drove home the Friday after the big storm.  We did not have electricity so Steve finally found hotel rooms at Ironworks ~ every other hotel in the north side was booked solid!  Ironworks is very pricey and very nice!  Had two rooms since Matthew had just arrived for race week.  He flew back to Florida on Tuesday.

Ella had her end of year choir program which was really enjoyable….  Fishers HS has 6 choir groups.

Our bathroom remodels begin next Wednesday….  2 1/2 weeks for each one.  Not looking forward to the mess and men in and out for 5 weeks!

Congrats Susan on the quick sale of your home!  Let us know when you are back for closing.  And Maureen….hope your last weekend of company for 500 parade was lots of fun!  Guess you are on the final countdown….

Beautiful day to work outside, have the back garden about halfway back in order! Enjoying the new deck too!

Keep in touch everyone!

Responding to Carol Faye’s post

For some reason I can’t log into conversation club chatter to respond…get a 403 forbidden message…

Yes, May always is busy! It sounds as if you will be busy Carol Faye.
Safe travels Carol.

The dermatologist just called to add one more thing to the list… I had a spot removed from my abdomen that turns out to be the best kind of melanoma you can have…just like my leg…but it requires a 1 centimeter excision.  That appointment is downtown on Monday. Dave leaves for a 2 night business trip to Alaska on Tues. Then my family starts coming Thursday.
The walk through at our Cincy house went well. They are working on the finishing touches…grab bars, some kitchen drawers…no reason why they won’t be finished by June 3rd.
The sale of this house is progressing. They really didn’t ask for much from the inspection…chimney cleaned…we said no…we had it cleaned 20 years ago and have never used it…
Our kitchen to garage door has a window in it which is against fire code…they asked for a $200 cashiers check at closing…
They also wanted us to have all our windows re caulked…it wasn’t marked as defective on the report though…just routine maintenance.
We offered them $500 rolled into closing rather than a check and are waiting to hear back.

Susan…I hate all the unknowns when you move into a new house…one wants it to be perfect and to have left all the maintenance behind. We still will need to do all that…gutter cleaning, etc…let’s just hope with a new home we won’t have leaks, broken this and that!
Hoping for a nice few weeks of great weather!

I can’t believe it’s May already

Today was finally a beautiful day after all the rain we have had. I went with Mom to the Hooverwood Mother’s Day brunch. Then I took her for a walk to the JCC. The next two days I work and go to Nora Elementary for Summer Reading presentations. I can’t believe April is over and in a month Summer Reading starts. I have a lot going on in May. Next week I’m going to Crown Point on the 15th and Munster on the 16th. I’m visiting my friend Leslie then going with Eddie and Josh to Bobby’s baseball game against a team in Chicago. Then I’m coming home Friday. The following week Elliott and I are going that Thursday to St. Louis for the holiday weekend and my birthday.

Hello from New York City

Always fun to be here, but thankful that I do not live here!  Too much hustle and bustle…  I like my quiet neighborhood and easy access to shopping and parking etc   Have seen Kiss Me Kate, and Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.  Tonight is Oklahoma!  Steve saw matinee yesterday of Beetlejuice and today for his 13th time, Phantom.  Went again to the 9/11 memorial on Tuesday, yesterday over to Rockefeller Plaza and some stores, and this morning heading to the Museum of Modern Art.  Have been there before, but always new displays and then of course the Starry Night painting by Van Gogh, a favorite.

I will be gone May 11-17.  I could host that following week, sounds like you may be around then Susan?

We fly back to Indy tomorrow afternoon.

Easy Come Easy Go

For some reason I can’t access the comment section to post a comment on my previous post…

Our realtor texted asking me to call him…never a good sign…
The buyers want to back out but since the inspection came back clean they have no reason to so their earnest money is in jeopardy…I guess our realtor is waiting for some document that makes their request official…but… we have no reason to return it…(that we know of)...so we shall see…
We are going for the record on the number of back outs on offers one can receive…

Hello May

Our week with Calvin went by quickly! I exchanged him on Monday for a bottle of wine from the winery Rachel and Zach stayed at in Virginia…here it is Wednesday and I haven’t opened it yet! Dave left Monday for a town outside of New Orleans on business and won’t be back until Friday morning.
In the meantime I have started packing boxes…Christmas decorations, books, games…trying to figure out how to organize the miscellaneous items that don’t take up a whole box. We still have a month before pack and load day - and Memorial Day weekend with all my siblings…so I can’t pack linens and towels…well, I could…
I did go to see a therapist yesterday. I would probably go back to her if we were staying.  I think the helpful part of the session was suggestions on how to talk with Rachel about George, how to approach the subject of how she is feeling about Memorial Day when all the family will be here for the first time etc.I’ll have Dave bring up the subject of Mother’s Day with Zach…
Rachel has asked if Calvin can have another overnight with us next week…May 9th, 10th, 11th…we’d return him on the 12th.
I’ve arranged the final walk through of the house for Monday the 13th…get to pick out all the nicks etc for them to fix before closing…
Then we will actually be home for 8 days alone…before family starts to arrive…and then May is gone…
Where have the lazy do nothing days gone?
