Kate, I will try to come tonight but I’ll be late if I make it. This is my Friday to work, which I like, A breather of a day without Patrons and then two days off in a row. Hope to see most of you since I Carol won’t be with us.

A quick update on my dad - he no longer needs his oxygen supplement (in fact, he didn’t even need it during his physical therapy today), there are rumblings in his in lower abdomen, and even though he is still hooked up to multiple tubes, including his nose tube, and in pretty major pain from his incision - his attitude and determination are strong. The waiting game is for the original blockage to move through once his intestines “wake up”. Then the nose tube can go, and he can have things by mouth again (hasn’t had food or drink for over a week now). When he can eat and have that successfully pass through his body, then he will be able to think about going home. He is amazing, and the care he is receiving at the VA Hospital is unbelievably good, much better than some other hospitals I know of. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers! Oh yes, I played gin rummy with him, and he beat me 10 games in a row, so his card playing has not been affected. I would suspect his flyfishing and machine shop work are as good as ever too!!
