Cobwebs
Years ago when we all lived on or near Grandview and our children were all young (as were we)... I seem to remember an occasion - just one in all our time together - that we gathered in Carol Fay’s backyard for a family pitch in dinner. 2 men (who shall remain nameless) have no recollection of this happening. Does anyone else remember doing it?

Carol - the question is ... does Steve remember?

Unbelievable. And I am naming names. I asked Steve if he remembered the picnic at Segal’s and he said no, but he remembered a picnic at Holiday Park. Uh, NO! I can’t believe he doesn’t remember the CC one - I mean, at the time we lived right next door to Segal’s.
The Holiday Park memory I think is when we, Taylor, Melissa and Delaney (about 2 yrs old) were having a Sunday picnic there, and Maureen - you, Dave and Dave’s folks and maybe your kids and Dave’s brother’s family? - were there at the same time. Do you remember that Maureen??!!

Neither Dave or Bill remembered the picnic at Segal’s… I say it is time for another bonding moment!
I can’t say that I do remember the Holiday Park memory. I know that we did celebrate a birthday for Dave’s mom there once - it would have been around June 9th… If Dave remembers then maybe he’ll be off the hook for the CC memory…

If Delaney were about 2 then it wasn’t the birthday picnic - maybe it was a concert?
That would be Bill Reno that doesn’t remember - Kate - how it came up at our annual investment review…

I remember it, but I’m not surprised that Bill doesn’t. I thought we all enjoyed it?? Tomorrow is our company geocaching event. The GPSs arrived one day earlier than promised—thanks, Kevin! I’ll report back afterwards.

If the geocaching event is a hit maybe Kate and Bill could lead the CC and husbands in another one!
It sounds as if all indoor events should be canceled this weekend! Let’s hope the weatherman is right!

Maureen - that would be Sunday June 24, 2001 at Holiday Park. (I checked my diary, but I also could check photo albums - I know I took several pictures of Delaney that day)

Checking my diary… Kevin spent the summer at Purdue, Rachel left for Germany at the beginning of June and was gone until the end of July. Dave left for a business trip June 22nd and was gone about a week… Let me know if you come up with something different….

Checked the photo album - we were definitely there on Sunday June 24, 2001. Would Dave have left on a Friday the 22nd for a business trip? I honestly can’t remember bringing Delaney there any other time! I remember Dave’s mom and dad, and seeing them carrying lawn chairs - I can’t swear that Dave (or your kids)was there, but you were, and it would be odd if you had a picnic with his folks without him.
I asked Steve again and he said yes, he definitely remembers!

Dave did leave on a Friday because ERM had a conference before the national air meeting. I doubt that I went by myself… and for sure I wouldn’t have gone with Dave’s parents without him. I am trying to think what other place it would have been… Dave’s parents did go with us to Connor Prairie for concerts.

ok - so it just had to be a different time - but definitely it was at HP! I am remembering that your picnic was in celebration of a bday or anniversary or a combination of events. I will ask Taylor if he remembers anything - he is dropping the girls off this morning.

I definitely remember having a CC family get together. it was at my house but went into Carol’s yard. I would love to have it again, but since Carol isn’t next door I think having it at a park would be great. Husbands, Children and Grandchildren definitely welcome. Maureen, we have a Geocaching book, at Glendale, Someone started in May of 2007. The last entry was 5/2/11

I do remember that there was a backyard gathering that included the husbands. However I don’t think Bill and I attended as we had something else going on.
