garage sale madness

Friday I spent over $90 on rummage sales. $45 went for a 12 piece place setting of Johnson Brothers ‘summer chintz’ pattern. These dishes are made in England and will be perfect to serve my desert for cc meetings. Today I had my sale and made about $90. Easy come easy go. It was much colder than I expected. Thanks Maureen for stopping by. I am going to try again tomorrow for the morning only. I have several large items that did not sell: drop leaf table, sofa hideabed; treadmill; my motorized trike. I may be asking more than traffic will bear or the right people just haven’t stopped by. I had a lot of traffic due in part to Kara placing a funny rant about her mom having too much stuff on craigslist. One man even printed out the letter and had it with him. Carol Fay,  I wish you would come by and take a look at my hand puppets. I have about 12 including Mickey and Minnie and many others which I had collected through the years. the most expensive is $3. Happy Halloween everybody.

Next entry: Poetry Plus tonight

Previous entry: I guess CC isn't this week.

Hope you had a succesful sale overall Susan!  We took the girls downtown yesterday for a carriage ride.  It was a retirement gift from Steve’s co-workers and it was set to expire December 3rd, so we thought it was high time to use it!  Really was alot of fun, doing something tourist-y in your own backyard like that.  Took lots of pics of bldgs as we trotted along, and a few of us passengers too.

Later on this afternoon we will drive out to Fishers to see the girls dressed up - Delaney is a Lady Phantom of the Opera and Ella is Christine Daae!!

I would say it was a B- on sales realized. I have several people interested in some of the larger items. the main thing is tha tI got things sorted out and out of the house. afew will manage to sneak back in but overall the improvement is welcome.

For the second year in a row I had toys to offer in addition to Halloween candy. the kid love it. but the parents are funny they keep wanting their child to hurry up so they can go to the next house. I also gave out books including a few to adults. The gal who used to babysit for my kids lives on McCollugh Ct and she came by with her children.  One of her children, a young teen, bought Kara’s drafting table for $5(while out for Halloween) Funny huh? I am glad the table is finding a good home. I still had some of the garage sale items out when they started trick or treating. so I made one scantily clad teen boy take a warm long sleeve shirt. And a dad had to take a coffee mug. It has been a grueling two days.

I’ll come over, this week, to look at the hand puppets, Susan! I’m sorry I couldn’t get over there the weekend.

If CarolFay doesn’t take the hand puppets, I’ll buy them.  I have a project in mind to make a puppet stage for Parker that hangs from a tension rod in a doorway and I could use some puppets to get him started.
