Hello from the Pacific Northwest!

Portland has been alot of fun - flew in right next to Mount Hood, quite a sight from above.  Delaney and I have really enjoyed the Chinese Garden, the Japanese Gardens and the humungous Portland Rose Gardens.  Today we went to a huge old fashioned toy store and then across the street to the Portland Central Library. Very nice, but doesn’t hold a candle to ours.  And like last year in Baltimore where Kate and family happened to be there at the same time and on the same water taxi as we were, this trip my nephew Samuel and his girlfriend from Minnesota are here!  We had dinner with them on Wednesday night -  what a coincidence! Steve has been tied up with the conference the entire time so far, but will be done this afternoon around 3pm.  We are planning to celebrate our wedding anniversary at dinner tonight!  Then tomorrow we are renting a car and driving over to the coast, about 2 hours from here, just for the day.  We fly back on Sunday.

I loved visiting the dam when we were out there ... I think it was Bonneville.  I could have stayed for hours watching the fish swim upstream.

Traveling is always fun…Dave and I need to get on the ball and plan some trip but between work and getting everything settled with his Dad…  When all of that is over we will really enjoy a trip. Dave is leaving for Detroit on Tues.  I wonder why I didn’t want to go on that one?

He just found out the other day that his Dad didn’t pay the insurance premiums for his Mom so she doesn’t have any coverage after Medicare.

Carol Your trip sounds great! I don’t have any planned for the near future but tomorrow I’m going to St Elmos (Sunday Special), with three friends, and then plan to see Wicked at Murat. Come to think about it I do have trips but not ones where I’m flying. I have Wisconsn, Columbus Ohio, Kentucky, Cincy and Chicago. These trips are during the summer and Fall.
