In Memoriam ~ Ring out, wild bells~

One of my favorite New Years poems, wishing many blessings for 2012 to all the CC ladies!

From Lord Alfred Tennyson

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
  The flying cloud, the frosty light:
  The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
  Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
  The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ring out the grief that saps the mind
  For those that here we see no more;
  Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.

Ring out a slowly dying cause,
  And ancient forms of party strife;
  Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws.

Ring out the want, the care, the sin,
  The faithless coldness of the times;
  Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes
But ring the fuller minstrel in.

Ring out false pride in place and blood,
  The civic slander and the spite;
  Ring in the love of truth and right,
Ring in the common love of good.

Ring out old shapes of foul disease;
  Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
  Ring out the thousand wars of old,
Ring in the thousand years of peace.

Ring in the valiant man and free,
  The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
  Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be.

Ring out sore rotator cuff
Ring out body ills
Ring out hurt and chills
Ring in health that’s good enough.

After two sessions of Pt and faithful execution of the assigned stretching exercises, five sessions of chiro and massage I am starting to have moments when I feel no pain. (Or is it the wine I had while partying tonight?) I guess we will see tomorrow. Happy New Year. Diet starts NOW

The New Year has started off on the right foot…only because I went to bed at 10 and got a good nights sleep!  We ended the year with a 5 mile run with Rachel’s dog and 1/3 mile swim - without the dog.  After dinner we drove up to 160th something street to the neighborhood in Carmel that had 6 houses connected to a light show with music.  It was worth seeing!
Heading over to the Y today and church tonight.
Rachel’s flight was canceled on Friday, got another one but that meant spending the night at the PHX airport… so she didn’t get to Las Vegas until Saturday morning. Haven’t heard if she won any money.

Susan… amazing how being in pain impacts your whole life!
To a healthy, happy, peaceful, enriching 2012 to all!

I agree with the lots of catching up and I will be there. I had a nice visit with my family, in Munster. Bobby and Rachel went with me. Lots more tomorrow!
