new day at work

I survived four hours of work and then went swimming. After returning home I dug up some garlic for my swim teacher (she came by) and then collapsed on the coach for 30 minutes. I hope that I can do a good job tommorrow and stay awake the entire six hours in order to write reports. All the staff was quite pleasant to work with and on the whole I enjoyed myself. The toughest part is having to get up when it is still dark and take the boys for their walk.

Next entry: Attention Maureen

Previous entry: Sorry I won't be at CC

Congratulations… after you are finished you will reaffirm why you are glad you retired!

I got up at 8, after breakfast, made bread, went for a five mile jog, went to Steinmart, home for a snack and then at 2 swam 1/3 mile.  Still up… Dave’s flight gets in around 11:30 pm and this way he won’t wake me up!

Carol… did you have to go through OASIS training again this year?

Good job Susan!  Put those skills to use now and then, probably a good idea!

Maureen, full day for you too - I was at Steinmart last week before CC and saw some cute things, but too stubborn to buy anything as my coupon was only for clearance or sale stuff.

I don’t have to go through training again - but there are monthly meetings (at the Woodfield Crossing bldg) with ideas and issues shared and books and materials available,  Haven’t had the Greenbriar organizational meeting yet, but that is usually at the very end of Sept or first week of October.  This will be my 5th year.

You are both correct.
Maureen I was extremely tired after a six hour work day plus an hour and a half drive. This afternoon I fell sound asleep on the couch after the dogs got their walk.
Carol yes it feels good to flex my mental muscle and fun to work with little people again. This six day job was the right decision but I remember now why I retired.

My boss is working on a plan for me to retire in 7 years.

I would say… then quit but I have a vested interest in you continuing your employment!

SEVEN years! You’ll only be 58! The rain this morning gave me another quiver in my list of good reasons to be retired. Who wants to get out of bed on a rainy day? I had digestive upset and although I got through the day alright I slept for an hour on the couch when I got home. My dogs are champion sleepers. They apparently slept all day but still slept on the sofa with me.

I love Glendale (even though I am applying for the Nora Job. I’ll explain PSA on Thurs) but I’m always exhausted when I get home.

Kind of you, Susan.  Speaking of digestive upset, I had scallops and got sick.  So I guess it wasn’t the goat cheese, I must have developed an allergy to shellfish in my old age.
