retirement party

woohoo
We had an end of the year pitch-in today. Celebrated the summer birthdays and had a baby shower. And we had a retirement garden party. I got some awesome gifts for the garden and some awesome gift cards to spend at garden places. Oh my this was exciting. And the funny thing is that I was speechless. It was quite overwhelming really. I will miss the good parts but I surely won’t miss the paperwork and that feeling of impending doom every time there was a bunch due. I will have to return next week to sort out things but one of the teachers bought my bookshelves and several stacks of books. I was thrilled to have a private garage sale and not have to pack stuff up. She just bought all the books I didn’t want to keep. She has two daughters who are new teachers and several young grand children so we both were happy.

Excellent finish—congratulations!  As soon as my Mom is up to it, we would like a garden tour, but it will probably be another week or two.

Congratulations Susan!  What a relief to know you are finished - and on a good note.  Keep Rachel in mind as you are packing up stuff - anything you think she might use for OT.

Thanks for the reminder. I am sure that I have stuff she could use. Lots of sensory toys and fine motor stuff. I will save some things to continue therapy. Our electricity went out when a limb fell on a neighbor’s line. We heard a boom and… Saw the proud mother out walking Honey. Gave a quick tour and a door prize of lettuce.

Sue, Honey and I loved the tour,(even if she wouldn’t walk over the bridge. LOL) I’m enjoying the lettuce. Thanks again. I’m really happy for you! I loved the tour and your retirement flower gifts!
