Starting a new Post
Since I was # 14 I thought it’s time for a new post. Like I said I would be in favor of having a CC family get together at a park. I definitely remeber the one at my house!! It did happen! I think Carol nust have moved shortly after that so that might be one reason we never had another one. Maureen, I would like to hear more about your Geocahing since we have a project and book here at Glendale. I don’t have the Green light, yet, but I will have some news about Matt.

Fantastic weather in Warsaw today for our garage sale. Between seven people we made over $500. I made $75. After deducting gas money, taking my friend for supper at the Boathouse( in Winona) for dinner last night and then eating out today I still netted over $25, Whoopee I am rich. It is funny how that little bit of money motivates me to sweep out my junque. This time I was not very enthusiastic about pricing things but got boxes of stuff thrown together and was up there early enough on Friday that I got things priced in about five hours. The camaraderie at the sale made the day fly by and we all enjoyed ourselves. I am quite tired because I didn’t sleep well last night and then was up at 6:00a. I got home tonight at 9:30. We could do some sort of pitchin supper if we can agree on a date.

CarolFay… good news about Matt - maybe it will be followed by more good news?!
Susan - sounds as if you had an enjoyable time - great weather we are having - unlike the east coast!
I’ll check with Barb and see what type of event we could have that Bob could attend…

So Susan… what did you sell? Was there a high ticket item or did all the little stuff add up? Did you bring anything home?
We rode 14 miles to the DIG IN festival downtown. For $20 each we sampled over 28 restaurants, 10 wineries, and 15 breweries. There was no way we could eat that much food! We were full after 17 restaurants. And we didn’t quite make it to all the wineries or breweries - just as well as we didn’t have a designated biker to get us home!
The crowd seemed to be mostly in their 20’s and 30’s - I found that curious. We did run into our nephew and his new wife there.

Sounds like a good food time.
My items were not big things other than a rug for , a table for 5, a set of new reading glasses for 10 and other odds and ends. I had been throwing things in boxes over the past few months and just grabbed them. I listened to Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother on the trip and really found it interesting. We could have long discussions about our opinions.

Tiger Mother… is that the true story of how an Asian mom raised her children?

Bill and I were at Dig In, but didn’t see Dave and Maureen. I really didn’t think the crowd was that young—we were there from 12-2, but we were not on the brewery and winery lines, we were both designated drivers. My stomach is really not strong enough for that sort of thing. And I have been avoiding goat cheese so of course many of the chefs used goat cheese. But it was great to be outside and we enjoyed ourselves and the music.

yes Tiger mother is an excellent non-fiction book. It is read by the author which is like frosting on a brownie…really delightful.
Kate why are you avoiding goat cheese? I had an excellent salad Saturday: gorgonzola cheese, cranberries, fresh pears, candied walnuts, romaine and a pear vinagrette. The flavors were strong and each bite was an experience.
I am heading to Georgia for three days with a friend who wants to visit her family. Bill will be here with the dogs. My garden is suffering from the neglect and lack of rain.

I worked the whole weekend so didn’t get to Dig In. I did go to a Fever game with three friends. I’m off tomorrow work Wed. Going to Chicago for my cousin Bob’s funeral( his battle with Brain Cancer ended Sat). I will come back Friday and work half a day. Then I’m off Sat. through Monday. I work two days and get off, Thursday to go to Pittsburgh.

I had goat cheese ravioli at Seasons and was sick. I am just assuming it was the goat cheese, I had other seafood items there also.
By the way, our geocaching was a success. The employees really had a good time and the GPS units worked wonderfully. Dinner at McCormick and Schmick’s was excellent—they did a great job serving and our private room was perfect for conversation and relaxation.

Oh what a teaser that is CarolFay…“some news about Matt”... let’s play 20 questions. Is it news about just Matt or does it involve another person?
As far as geocaching…I just know what is on Kevin’s website. Kate is the one with all the experience now setting way points!
