Sunroof vs. Moonroof courtesy of Yahoo
“Sunroof” is the generic term used to describe an operable panel in a vehicle roof which can let in light and/or air. “Moonroof” is a term created by Ford in the 70s, yet is now used generically to describe glass panel inbuilt electric sunroofs.
Hmmm, so all moonroofs are sunroofs, yet not all sunroofs are moonroofs? We found further clarification—“sunroof” is the term originally used to describe a metal panel that would only allow light or air in when opened. A “moonroof,” on the other hand, is a glass panel that can allow light in even when it is closed (provided, of course, you slide back that nifty fabric-covered panel to expose the glass).
True sunroofs, those made just of metal, appear to have gone the way of 8-tracks in automobiles, and these days, most “sunroofs” are really “moonroofs”—panels of tempered glass, usually tinted, that tilt up to allow a flow of air, or slide back into the roof entirely, giving the car occupants a brief but tantalizing glimpse of life in a convertible.

Thank you Susan for clarifying the post - I was getting worried about Kate as I was reading her entry… wondering if she had a reaction to the chocolate!
Aunt Gloria really enjoyed being included in our outing and meeting everyone. She is 84 and is still sharp!
I just mailed some of the truffles to my Dad, we kept 3 out and then triple wrapped the rest so that it will take some effort to get to them.
The only disappointment - and reason to go back - Dave was hoping we would try the Gorgonzola cheese truffle. I didn’t get a chance to look in the display case at the varieties there - maybe we’ll go down this weekend!

If you do go down tell the owner that she should consider doing girls night outs. Maybe she could get some additional revenue if she charged enough. We liked Gloria too. she is an attarctive woman. It was fun to have all the snacks and drinks to clear our palates with. I have been watching CNN as they break a few times an hour to show the next miner being rescued. So heartwarming and so far wonderfully successful. Originally they had thought Christmas for the rescue but a Pennsylvania firm sent doen a drill that was the winner in speed.

The outing was fun. I shared my truffles with the office and the ladies in my Bible study. Coincidentally, the name of our study book is “Sweeter than Chocolate” and is a study of Psalm 119.

...and the pictures were great, too. I assume Carol posted them? or was it Maureen?

Kate - just scanned Psalm 119 - it is a long Psalm! - didn’t see the word chocolate. How great it was though that the truffles tied in with your Bible study group.

Kate, Thanks for clarifying the difference between sunroofs and moonroofs. it was very interesting. I sure hope we can take more field trips. I had a great evening, Tuesday night. I will check my calendar and let you know when I can have the next CC.

Maureen: Thank you again for the fun evening. My blood sugar was only slightly elevated. I think booze actually lowers it. As you can guess from the previous posting, we had a fascinating discussion in the car about sun and moon roofs. We tried to avoid anything that you would want to know details of. We thought it wouldn’t be fair to discuss anything too juicy. So CF postponed details of library buisness and I only told a little about my spa visit.
Coming home was a little more exciting than planned when I discovered half way home that I hadn’t turned my headlights on. the car has headlights that come on automatically but they are not bright enough to see clearly with.
Aunt Gloria seems to be younger than I thought. She obviously has here faculties intact.
