Tis the Season
After a Christmas memorial service at church on Saturday - people who had friends and family who died this year gathered for a nice service - Dave and I hit the stores hoping to get ideas. We wandered around Lowes, Penney’s, Dick’s, Wild Birds, Trader Joes, 1/2 Price Books, and Goodman Shoes. It was fun doing it together - we managed to come up with some different things for the stockings - especially at Trader Joe’s! Since I can’t give library books with the kids out of town we hit the $1.00 rack at the bookstore. It occurred to me later that I could have taken the non-circulating paperbacks from the library and kept the tradition. We even made a stop at Goodwill in honor of Dave’s Mom who always got us stuff from there. They were having 1/2 off of everything in the store - luckily we didn’t find anything because the lines were so long!
Now - to enjoy the sun and brisk refreshing air!... Although Kate’s trip to Florida sounds good! Should we let her have CC again? She must not have recovered from Thanksgiving and is in a daze. I wonder what else we can get her to agree to?

Next entry: Waimea Bay
Previous entry: Did I over react? I need all your opinions!
Kate - I think at the last CC we said it was Carol Fay’s turn so you are off the hook. As far as games - I like Taboo and Charades. Restoration Hardware also had the cards for a Christmas Trivia game and you could just adapt it ... divide cards and people into teams.
We just received our first snowfall so you timed your trip to FL right!

Maybe I assumed when the site said “it’s your turn” that they were talking to me. Go, Carol Faye! It is cool here, in the 50s and cloudy. Thanks for the ideas, Maureen.

Don’t know if I should share the above site with you but in the spirit of the season… you can register to win gifts from Indiana.

Thanks Maureen! But are you sure you can spare the holiday spirit:) Hope we all win something!! Your game ideas are good for a group.
Hope your Florida weather will warm up Kate - enjoy your time away no matter what! What are you serving at your party this year?
We put up our tree on Saturday - a beautiful Fraser Fir again, and it smells pretty wonderful. Delaney and Ella helped us decorate it, and it is loaded with ornmanents. We have alot from Steve’s folks, vintage glass ones which I just love. Plus all of ours from down through the years.
This Thursday is Steve’s retirement reception at Lilly, I am going and hopefully Matthew and Taylor and several of our friends. Then he only has all of next week left.

Chanukah starts Friday. Bobby will be in Boston, Thursday through Sunday. Jen is here but Matt and Jen are pretty busy. I’m hoping to see them this weekend. With my Men’s busy schedules luckily Chanukah is 8 days ( Elliott is busy Friday night with a Pacer game.) I’m off tomorrow and I hope I will be able to shop. I’m worried about the roads when I get off in five minutes.

You’re right. I don’t know what I was thinking. And I have to get ready for our company Christmas party that Saturday night. But I will have all day Saturday. Anybody have a good idea for a group game? There could be as many as 14. They all like to play games. We just discovered Settlers of Katan, but of course you can’t play that with a large group.
