I am sure we have discussed what to do with letters ... Today when I was at Dave’s Dad’s house I came across letters that he had written to Wilma- several from the months before they were married and a few when he was away for business. I showed them to him and asked if he wanted to read them ... he said no but thank you. I asked if he wanted me to read them to him ... he said no. I did not ask what he wanted me to do with them. Now that I have already read them ... was that allowed? Dave has read them also and sees nothing wrong with it - there was nothing negative in them.

a piece of family history - hang onto them

Too late to vote… the damage (not that there was any) has been done. I would have read them but I am sure that Ms Manners would have voted that if one correspondent is still alive they belong to that person. Yes I would hang onto them or give them to the brother after making a copy(if they were interesting). Bill’s grandmother kept a journal that was so boring; date; weather; grocery list. Anybody want to help me plan a trip to St. Louis? Of course I want to see the botanic gardens but after that I am not sure.

I didn’t ask Dave’s dad what he wanted me to do with them because I was afraid he would say to throw them out - and I wouldn’t have done it. I think the letters are special - he made a comment as if it were a response to one that she had written - I am a little scared about marriage too, it is a big step- or something to that effect. It makes you see our parents as more real.
Speaking of parents… my sister called this evening. My dad misjudged the distance he had in bed and when he rolled over he rolled out. It took 3 people and lots of work to get him back in. He didn’t break anything but they have moved him to skilled nursing - they say until he gets his strength back from being in the hospital. But it should be interesting - my sister is going to talk to them and see what their expectations are in order for him to stay in assisted living.
When are we meeting next?

That’s what I asked, where and is CC this week? I promise to come and I have lots of news.I’m off this Thursday and I promice not to go to a movie no matter what!! It’s been nice, having a three day week and this weekend off. I need your advice concerning my Mom’s anger at my Mother-in-law and at Elliott. More at CC. I’m going to a service at White Harvest Church, tonight, and I’ll explain more about that at CC.

Until Susan tells us differently, CC is as shown on the opening page - July 23 at Susan’s.

I can’t log into the opening page - I just can do it to the page where the posts are or the page where I can publish.

I can have it either Thursday. Would this Thursday work for all of you? If not we will stick with the 23rd.
Back to the letters: at work we say better to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission. In other words permission denied is harder to overcome.
My computer fiasco continues but I have no intention of paying the outrageouus demands. Imagine $1100 for a 5 year old laptop. I didn’t even get it new.

This Thursday I can promise. The 23rd I work till 9:00 so I can’t promise, especially since I’m leaving the 24th for Munster and my HS reunion. This Thursday is much better.
