weekend
Friday night I continued celebrating my birthday. A co-worker has the same birthday and is the same age so we had dinner, and a drink. Then I had a walk and a tour with Honey ( Sue I really enjoyed it!) Saturday I ran errands and bought a new bathing suit at Marshalls. Saturday night Elliott and I went to our first Indian’s baseball game. We wre disappointed with the entertainment ( a dancing Bat boy instead of the ZooperStars) but we enjoyed the game. It especially was exciting at the end! It ended in a tie and rain suspension. Today I’m being treated (still celebrating my birthday) to Brunch at Granite City! Did I tell you Matt treat Elliott and me, on my birthday, to dinner at Red Lobster. Neither Matt or Elliott like fish but it was MY BIRTHDAY and that’s really where I wanted to go.

Sue ... read this too late to come see the Joe Pyle -the late hour of 8 pm - that is after driving to and from Cincy on Saturday - just dodging the storms and catching the tail end here, went to 7:45 Mass, neighbors came over for brunch and then we did a 28 mile bike ride, dinner with homemade wine and hot milk and kahlua with the last of the GS mint cookies for dessert. I am ready for bed!
Carol Faye - how did you like Granite City? We drive by often and always say ... we should try that out.
Rachel also celebrated her BD. Her boss said - 25 - oh that was my worst BD, I was single, didn’t know what I wanted to do etc etc. Rachel said - I am single, not dating anyone, don’t know what I want to do - but thanks. Her boss said - just think of it like this - all your other BD’s will be much better. Rachel was just fine with her BD the way it was!

funny story Maureen I will be out for lunch tomorrow and maybe some preliminary shopping. I have some major gift cards to think about.

Nice weekends all! Delaney and Ella were here Saturday, I took them to the outdoor pool at the Y - it was almost empty! They have a new “splash pad” area, but both girls thought it was too babyish! Sunday’s church service was the children’s musical “Jailhouse Rock” - very very good! Ella was front and center (she plans to be an opera singer when grows up, and a bird expert!), Delaney loved her spot along the edge of it all (can’t wait NOT to have to be in the musicals any more!). Afterwards we had the whole family here for a big brunch.

My weekend—A trip to two yarn stores and Jersey Mike’s with Mom and a trip to the airport to pick up Bill at 1:30 am—no trafico, no problemo.

Forgot to invite you all to Poetry Plus tonight - Steve did a presentation on poetic plays, starting with the Greek tragedies and ending with Bertold Brecht and Dylan Thomas. It was actually pretty interesting! Delaney came along, and she asked some good questions afterwards.

Steve is a man of hidden talents. Poetry presentations who knew? I dabbled at school with straightening. Many days work left to go. Was going to stop to buy ladybugs but it was raining so maybe tomorrow after swim class.

Celebrate on girlfriend!
I still have plants to give: chocolate Joe Pye anyone? Except for a quick trip to Lowe’s I should be home all day today.
Kara and I made up for lost time g saling yesterday. $80 well spent. I only mentioned retirement about 40 times. As in: “I don’t need kids’ toys because I am RETIRED”(followed by hoots and giggles or: “I certainly am enjoying retirement”.
