WEEKEND REPORTS
For old times sakes Dave and I went to the parade today although we only stayed about 30 minutes or so. A slight twist from years past - we rode our bikes for a total of 28 miles round trip. I actually got teary eyed thinking of all the parades that Dave’s mom had been too - how much she loved them and this time of year with all the flowers.
I did buy,on Susan’s recommendation, Rozanne Geraniums - I may have put them in too much shade, if so I’ll move them next year. I did also plant zinnias - there are quite a few seeds in a packet!
And this is only Saturday!

I fought with allergies/spring cold deal all weekend but didn’t let it keep me in. As soon as the daisy phase is over in that back flower bed I will put in the last of the annuals I’ve bought. Planted my zinnea and cosmos seed garden and want to do a little bit more along the north side beds. Have a few perennials to move there. Race attendees had a great time Sunday, and yesterday we had the whole bunch here for an inside picnic due to the weather.
It sure turned warm and humid today. We are having our annual a/c tune up this afternoon. Just in time.

A 3 day weekend confuses me the rest of the week - what day is it? But I’m not complaining!
I went to the orthodontist yesterday. At my chair were balloons, gift certificate and a bottle of sparkling grape juice in anticipation of getting my braces off. Luckily I could tell by the day of my appointment that the one tooth still hasn’t moved to where it should be. The orthodontist agreed with me and in an instant all the gifts were gone! His original estimate was 15 months tops - we are now going on 24.

Well, ladies, I can report on the rain barrels made by my nephew. He got the barrels for free at a car wash—they get their detergent in it. I have pictures, it is a white barrel, but they are planning to paint it. There are already 2 holes in the top. He used a hacksaw, I think, or drill? to make a hole for the spigot. The spigot just screwed into the hole he made in the barrel—nothing else needed. He put screening over the hole in the top where the gutter was funneling in the water. He actually had 2 barrels side by side with a 6 inch PVC pipe going from one to the other for overflow. He has steep rooftop and it all funnels to the one gutter—both barrels filled with just 1/4 inch of rain!. I’ll try to bring the pics to next CC.

Dang Maureen They ought to pay you for the inconveinience.
The rainbarrel sounds cool. Maybe I can make one for my retirement. I would want to paint.
Yes tomorrow is my final day. I have been so busy and so frustrated. The server is slooo because everyone is on doing report cards. Paperwork that normally would take 20 minutes takes 60. It was actually good because it reminded me about why I want out.

Suprising when memories spring up. Are you sure that wasn’t sweat in your eyes? It is rather humid out. That bike ride sounds exhausting.
I slept in until 9:00 this morning and then lazed around until Kara arrived at 11:00. She put together the new arch and I am trying it out in various parts of the garden. Come by and give an opinion. We stoped in at Lowe’s to pick up a few bags of mulch(broken so I get half off) and Kara bought a few discount plants(what a switch). The woman said oh you must have a green thumb. Kara casually said that she just prunes off the old parts. Then I worked outside until now.
