Welcome back Sun!
Now that the sun is shining… I see that I should have spent the last few days dusting rather than exercising, shopping, and making bread! Too late now - I’m off to rake leaves! It is 57 in the house… the high today is supposed to be 57. I am trying to wait until at least the middle of November before turning the heat on - unless of course I host CC!

Actually cooked a whole meal for company this weekend..assuming daughter and son-in-law are company. It was Al’s We had baked fish, butternut squash from the garden, curried apple relish and homemade pumpkin bread. Whew! All good but tonight we eat takeout pizza. the apple relish was a recipe from simplyrecipes.com. Although I am no longer thrille dwith cooiking I like to read recipes and when I saw this one it was a eureka moment that I had all the ingredients in my cabinets.
CF what did you hear from job interview? Are you up for cc at your house this week or should we check in with Barb? Maureen the dust will always be there waiting so enjoy yourself now. I prefer to read to doing house work.

Opened the windows to let the heat in today… up to 65 now in the house.
Kate, was this a planned trip or did the cold weather the other day spur you on? Did you get my message about southwest discounts?
We are planning a trip with the “kids” over Presidents weekend… fares are ouch after flying standby all these years. We are looking at a house to rent - hard to come by in February!

I emailed CarolFay ...she is not able to host cc this week. She didn’t say anything about next week. I’d be willing to host - does someone want to check with Barb first? It sounds as if it may be Susan, Carol, myself since Kate is gone and I am assuming that CarolFay is busy (Elliots break). So it is just Barb.

I just read my previous post. It was Al’s birthday. Today Bill and I and the Dinners went on a road trip to Fairfield Ohio…about 2 hours each way. We had a delicious lunch at the House of Bangkok and then spent two plus hours roaming the aisles of Jungle Jims. I restrained myself and spent only $82. If I bought everything that caught my eye the price could have been four times that. Jungle Jims is sensory overload when checking out all the varieties of foods from around the world. For example there is one case of at least forty different blue cheeses. A fun day and beautiful weather for travelling through the fall countryside.

Oh I called Barb and left a message to call me about cc. If we are at your house Maureen do we need to wear parkas?

yes, I got your msg Maureen, but we had already booked the trip. We will be going to Bisbee to see one of the Art Awakenings galleries, and Saturday night they are closing down the streets in Bisbee (an old western town) for an adult Halloween party! We are working on costumes. I’m going with pirate since it is easy—already bought an eye patch at CVS. Bill was going to be a businessman and just hand out business cards, until I told him he would then have to wear a tie. We will NOT be posting pictures!

Jungle Jims is a dangerous place! But fun! And yes, I thought the trees were beautiful on the drive up through Ohio to Cleveland a week ago.

We were planning to go to Kentucky for Elliott’s Fall break but it didn’t work out. So we ope to go see Matt Dec. 21st to Sat. Dec. 24th. I’m not sure, yet when Bobby will be home. I don’t tink we will see either son for Thanksgiving. Sorry I’ll be busy this Thursday.

Haven’t had the furnace on here yet, but then it hasn’t gone below 67 inside. (good insulation job by the former owners!) Steve will be ready, though, when it hits 65. Tomorrow morning he is heading to MN as his mother is in the hospital, infection and numerous falls.
Are we meeting on Thursday night? I checked, and it would be Barb/CarolFay/Raquel’s turn.
