My next door neighbor fell several weeks ago at the Pike library. Her shoulder/arm has not healed well and her doctor wants her to have an MRI. She can’t drive and needs to get to physical therapy. Kate do you htink your mom would be willing to help? I haven’t mentioned this to her but I would assume she could pay for her time/gas. she says a cab is outrageously expensive and apparently Indygo takes a long process to sign up.

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007Let’s Go Racing!
Monday, May 28th, 2007Our weekend guests should be back to the North Country by now after a wonderful 2 day visit. Barbara and Doug got here Friday night and we went to the 500 yesterday. They were blown away by the greatest spectacle in racing - we didn’t let the rain stop us from totally enjoying our day! Besides watching some great racing, being part of a crowd of 400,000 people raising voices to the national anthem and to “Back Home Again in Indiana” was very touching. And Memorial Day (or as my grandparents said, Decoration Day) brings memories of the annual Pine City Parade. I can close my eyes and smell the lilacs we Girl Scouts carried in the parade - it ended at Birchwood Cemetery where we would choose a military grave on which to lay the flowers. And in high school, I was in the marching band - we played John Philips Sousa non-stop all the way to the cemetery where we would then play the national anthem. I wonder if the small towns still have those parades?
Referral
Monday, May 28th, 2007Carol Faye, I have called Leroy several times and have left messages but he hasn’t returned my calls about stripping and refinishing a bench. Maybe because I said I was a friend of yours???
Or else every time he called the line was busy. Is he still in the business? In town?
If anyone else has a name … pass it on.
Several people received their pink slips at school and 2 others just quit. Looks like I’m still hired (darn). Although I would have a hard time keeping busy 5 days a week, 8 hours a aday!
See everyone Thursday.
I’m envious of all your planting
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007Elliott tries to be nice to me and keeps getting a nursery to come out and plant flowers for me for my birthday and Mother’s Day. I can’t convince him that it is theraputic for me to plant my own flowers! We don’t have the money, right now, since we had to pay $500 out of pocket, to fix my car. I’m tempted to get a flat of flowers and do a little planting myself. What do all of you think? I don’t want to hurt Elliott’s feelings but I want some flowers now! It could be another month before we have money for a nursery!
Great weekend
Monday, May 21st, 2007I just had to share the great weekend I had. Friday night the weather was great so I road around in the NC Gator, with Elliott, to keep him company, while he was working. Saturday, I went to Oh Yumm! with my tea group. It’s on Illinois. There were ten of us and we had a great lunch!! Kitzi and I split the bread pudding with chocolate chips, and the cream Brulet! After lunch Kitzi and I picked up Judy and went to the Broad Ripple Art Fair. I bought three pair of earings. We enjoyed it so much we stayed until it closed at 7:00. Sunday Jackie treated her Mom and me, for lunch, at the Ayre’s Tea Room, in the State Museum. We had a very pleasant lunch even though the day before my Mother-in-law attacked me, verbally, on the phone, and said I was being Belligerent when I told her that Jackie doesn’t listen to her phone messages. I told her she hurt my feelings but she was standing up for Jackie. The Funny thing was I brought it up at the lunch and Jackie admitted she never listens to her messages! I took Jackie to Matt’s Condo. She hadn’t seen it or met Jenna. I just couldn’t handle taking Elsie! Jackie, Jenna, Matt and I had a nice visit. How was all of your weekends?
Mother’s Day.
Monday, May 14th, 2007Bobby went to the Hotel (where my Mom was staying) with me and then we got him to go to the BAr Mitzvah Brunch. It was very nice. The family live off of 75th and Hoover. Then I went to the Indian’s game with Donna, her friend and we met Bobby there. Matt came over to us for a while, to talk, then went back to work. After the game Elliott, Matt and I went for a Mother’s Day dinner. The weather was beautiful! What did all of you do yesterday??
Sorry about the 24th
Monday, May 14th, 2007We have changed our plans. We are now leaving for my niece’s wedding on Thursday night and Amy is flying to us on Tuesday to go with us. I can have CC on the 31st. May has been incredibly busy for us and we have a new employee starting on May 23.
Please RSVP for the 31st. If it’s a go with the online people, I’ll call the others (Barb and Racquel).
(My brother went to the hospital with kidney stones this morning–must be an epidemic)
Spamalot
Friday, May 11th, 2007Steve and I loved it! One of the best shows to come through here in a long time. Next year’s Broadway subscription doesn’t look great, so we are passing on the package deal again.
Sorry to miss CC last night. When and where are we next meeting?
ebay cars
Thursday, May 10th, 2007Bill has no knowledge of the “ebay protection” program. His bill’s are all done through pay- pal.
I will try to come tonight
Thursday, May 10th, 2007I have to drop off my rental car, after work, at 9:00, tonight so we don’t have to pay fir another day. The Impala is fixed so we plan to pick it up sometime tomorrow. The enterprise rental is around 96th and Michigan so I hope I can get to Raquel’s house around 9:30. If it’s much later I won’t be able to make it. I have to get up at %:00 AM tomorrow to be at Naab road by 6:00 AM for Elliott’s procedure, tomorrow. I hope to see you.
When is next CC
Monday, May 7th, 2007Carol or anyone, has Raquel made a decision what day she is having CC?? I haven’t heard back from her. I work both nights this week but I can go after work. I’m off Friday and Elliott just found out that’s when he’s scheduled for the sound waves procedure to Pulverize his kidney stone. We have to be at the Naab Road office at 6:00 AM. It figures it’s on my day off and my Mom is coming in the afternoon for a good friend’s grandson’s Bar Mitzvah. I’m going with her to the Friday night Service, the Friday dinner, the Bar Mitzvah Saturday morning and the Brunch Sunday morning. Saturday night I have tickets for Spamalot.
Great weekend. Low key
Monday, May 7th, 2007Saturday I went to AAA to plan a trip to Nashville, In. with my cousin Linda, the end of June. It started out Seatle (airfare too expensive) then Chicago (rooms too expensive and $25 a day to park the car) so It’s Nashville. There is a hotel right in the heart of Nashville, a little pricey ($130 a night for two), but we can walk to the shops. We enjoy each others company so it should be fun. This will be a busy summer. My sister’s 50th B day, Josh’s 4th B day, my Aunt’s 85th B day ( all party’s up North) and her 60th Anniversary and my In-law’s 60th Anniversary. More later. about the weekend. I did go to the JCC to swim Sunday and spent time with Elliott at home, Sunday. I was lazy and relaxed inside. I needed it.
Office 2007 etc
Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007Kathy, I will pass along your question to Steve. The best thing would probably be for you to talk on the phone with him - a good time to call is around 6:30 or 7 pm.
Have fun with your son and “daughter” in Iowa!! How long will you be there?
Thanks ladies
Tuesday, May 1st, 2007Thanks Maureen and Susan, for attending Poetry Plus tonight! It is always nice to have a good turnout for a guest speaker. All CC ladies are always welcome to attend - we meet the first Tuesday of every month except for January and February.
