I still have to get use to the idea of destination weddings. Various activities were available… tennis, kickball, volley ball, a cookout, a 22 mile bike ride and then by chance there also was a wedding. It was a great reunion with family, cousins and their children but really the wedding seemed like just another activity. The reception was fun …dinner and dancing.
There was a priest who was a family friend of Tom’s and he offered to say Mass on Sunday after the bike ride and before the wedding for anyone who wanted to attend instead of having to go find a church in town. About 25 of us took him up on the offer.
You’ll love this Kate … the bride’s bouquet and the maid and matron of honor carried … tulips! They didn’t hold up very long in the heat but looked nice.
There were maybe just over 100 people there … at least half were the brides relatives. Tom’s relatives are going to have a party for them in CT in 2 weeks as many of them couldn’t travel. Just his Mom, step mom, sister, priest, and another couple were able to come. Many of their mutual friends came … from CA, AZ, Michigan, and CT. I was amazed that so many friends could spend the money but … I guess at their age and stage any excuse for a party!
The weather was perfect all weekend.
And … I looked great in my dress which I left hanging in the hall closet at Kitty’s house. She is mailing it to me before the next wedding I am going to.
I’m glad that I had decided not to go into work at all this week… especially since the weather is so nice.
Rachel and Sean just want to enjoy each other’s company without people assuming that they will end up married. At this point neither one of them wants to commit … there are too many other things going on in their life to worry about whether they want to marry.
So … till next CC
