I’ll be there. Any one want to go to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Tuesday?

I will be at cc Thursday. Only 47 work days and I can go to all the parades I want. Of course what I really want to do is go out in the yard and muck about. I spent several hours in the yard yesterday and then Kara came over and we sorted on Bill’s stuff some more. He went to church but didn’t see Maureen as he often does.
Caught … we didn’t make it back from Rachel’s till after 9 and we didn’t know till Sunday morning that we were going. It probably won’t be the last time we skip church!
I walked 6 miles this morning and after lunch went to St. V’s and played scrabble with Debbie Traylor, came home and did yard work. It would be nice if spring lasted a long time and didn’t jump right into summer.
What ever happened to little old ladies who stayed home with nothing do do except wait for someone to call and take them to parades? Kate … your Mom has exercise group in the a.m and then is going to a knitting class.
I might just go by myself and then go to Dave’s Dad’s house and do some yard work and plant pansies.
I tutor tomorrow morning, then I have lunch plans later on - which is unusual because going out for lunch is a once in a blue moon thing for me! Otherwise the parade sounded like fun.
Where are you buying pansies Maureen? I usually get mine at the Ace on Westfield but as of last Friday they didn’t have any in yet.
Habig’s had them this past Saturday. I am checking at Lowes today because it is on the way to the food pantry but now maybe I’ll call first so it isn’t a wasted trip.
I did wear sunscreen but I didn’t go to the parade. I planted pansies at Dave’s Dad house, offered to take him to Bob Evans… using a gift card that we found among paper there. He said no but he did come out and “helped” me chop up the dried mulch that I overturned. He even brought out the cushions for the patio chairs and offered to fix me lunch.
I wish I had more energy and time … I would have washed our gazebo and lawn furniture so that we could eat outside tonight but I was so hungry after all the work that I ate dinner at 4:30 instead.
The lawn furniture will be there tomorrow. Working outside is my favorite kind of getting tired. I cut back a wild rose monster in my back bushes. Unfortunately I forgot that I usually wear leather gloves. I kept thinking that I wouldn’t get stuck again. Ouch times 20.
I worked outside this afternoon too - the fragrance of the spring earth is fantastic. I can close my eyes and I am a kid, finally getting to wear a spring jacket and play marbles on the grass at school during recess. The mind never lets go of a memory with a smell associated with it!!
Interesting that you should say that. Fragrance is actually supposed to be our strongest memory channel. Unfortunately we don’t have many connections to academic skills using this. I keep forgetting that I don’t care about school next year and get all excited about what will they figure out with the new calendar proposed by the state superintendent. None of the teachers seem to care about the waiver days but losing half days on conference days is a tough one. Down another day.
My mom always likes a parade!

My mom appreciated the thought, Maureen! It was kind of you to ask her.
So did you get to the parade? I hope you wore sunscreen. It’s like summer out there.

See you Thursday!
Pansies are also at Sullivans.
