I have a load for Goodwill …clay pots and saucers - small to medium size. I’ll be going to Goodwill on Monday so post if you want any. There is also a flower pot that says Italy on the bottom. And …. the big find …. a McCoy flower pot. How can these be collector items when I am finding McCoys all over. Kathy insisted I take this one and I didn’t put up too much of a fuss because shouldn’t everyone have a McCoy. I’ll give it to Rachel.
Okay, so I googled McCoy … there is a club with a website - sounds like our group but devoted to McCoy. There is also a convention in Zanesville Ohio in July. Who wants to go?
I do not want to go to a mcCoy convention but if you find any interesting or large clay pots I would be glad to take a peek at them. Are they at your house? I have a roseville vase that sells for $30 on e-bay. It was my moms. Any unusual vases I would love to look at but I have plenty of regular glass vases. My favorites are colored glass or crystal bud vases.
I love objects with a history - especially if they came down through family. You probably wouldn’t be surprised to know how many “collectibles” I have would you!?
Carol, FYI here’s a link.

A Way with Words on PBS Saturday was discussing Gma names.
And I forgot to tell you I collected 2 more while I was in Ohio. Do you have Lola (Grandma) and Lolo (Grandpa)? These are from the Phillipines.
I may adopt these.
Sorry I missed the last CC. I worked until 9:00 ( you probably guessed that) and was really tired. I’ll try to make the next one. Barb’s boys are on break so that’s probably why she didn’t go. Kate, the Gma names are definitely interesting!
Thanks for the link Kate. (I didn’t have Lola and Lolo) I did a little googling on the subject, and came up with 2 sites dedicated to this grandparent name thing, plus various weblog entries and threads with the same theme. It’s become a monster, too big for me to keep track of!!! I can’t believe the number of names I have been reading. When I go up to Minnesota week after this one, I am going to investigate this phenomena as it pertains to the modern North.
