Eye’s OK

Yesterday I had floaters in my eye that were black and jagged. Then a few hours later I started to have flashes of light on the side. I went to the opthamologist at 9:00a and had a full exam. Fortunately everything was relatively normal. He explained what it was and why I had flashing. I have to go back in three weeks because my pressure was elevated. Apparently vitreous gel breaks off in the eyes and bumps the retina causing the same symptoms. This can also be the beginning of a detached retina but there are other symptoms first. I have been disoriented most of the day due to the dilated eyes and the occasional flashes.

Sue, that is upsetting. Do you get relief if your eyes are closed? We are going to Chicago for Parker’s first birthday party tomorrow. What a little miracle!

Sue, I’m sorry to hear your news. I’ve had floaters for years but not the flashes. Honey is doin quite well, except she doesn’t like thunder or the rumbling of the water heaster. She gets upset and growls! Otherwise she is very loving and enjoys fetching her bone and toys. She is very attached to me and still wary of Elliott. We take her to the Vet Monday.

Congrats on your new family member CarolFay!!!!

Have fun in Chicago with the birthday boy Kate!

Hope you are doing better with your eyes etc now Susan. Yes, I have humongous floaters too in my right eye for about 4 years now - I wish they would just dissolve and go away but no such luck. Thank goodness they are no more than an annoyance.

I am really enjoying my week here at my folks.

I am counting on the weather forecast for Saturday to be right - and hope to spend the better part of the day outside although Aunt Gloria has begun to count on us visiting Saturday afternoons. My sewing machine has broken after 40 years. There is a man on the east side that repairs them so we can combine the two.

I have my first case of poison ivy - I was doing yard work at Dave’s Dad’s house. I think there was something we talked about that you could take before doing yard work or was it my imagination?

Glad you are enjoying the visit with your parents Carol - you’ll really appreciate spring here when you get back!

Getting old … one thing after another! Eye floaters … so did you imagine brain tumor first?

Our neighbor has their granddog over this weekend - maybe I’ll play with him. Is Honey appropriately named for her color?

A trip and a visit with family is a nice break from TAXES!!!

Today was a great day to take Honey for a walk. The first couple of days have been a little rough for Honey. She doesn’t like rain and the first night she was restless and upset from the rain. She growled and snapped aat the air. the second day she was a little upset with the noise the carpet men made stretching and hammering the carpet. today was avery good day. We have a two week trial with her. If it doesn’t work out we can take her back within two weeks. She is very loving and well trained but the adjustment is still a little tough.

Does she sleep through the night? (other than when there are thunder storms)
