Last night’s Poetry Plus was interesting and Mary Ann - (was that her name?) was an entertaining speaker. I don’t think being Catholic had anything to do with my interest. It is hard to believe in miracles and understand the lives of some of the saints - why God chose them etc but I guess that is where faith comes in. I think in this day and age people are wary of cons and are skeptic - seeing is believing and all that. Last night was a renewal of faith in a way.
Speaking of saints, miracles, and faith… I mentioned at a previous CC about Debbie Traylor having CLL. She is still in the hospital. She developed a sinus infection last week that resulted in needing surgery but her nose didn’t heal and developed a fungus infection which necessitated removing her entire nose and part of her cheek. She can not have reconstructive surgery until her blood count is better… which is why she has been in the hospital since January in the first place. Goes without saying … prayers please.
That is a tough situation to deal with. The poor woman. I have been feeling sorry for myself not feeling well with my eyes…snapped me out of that. Sorry that I was unable to attend last night but it certainly sounded inspiring. I took Monday off and Friday is starting to look tempting to sleep in.
We just got home from our 3 days at Turkey Run State Park - the girls loved it just as much this year as last, and Ella was able to handle more hiking now too. We had glorious weather on Wed and Thurs, and some early morning rain today.
But I would have to say, I’d trade every minute of it for Debbie’s healing. You are right Maureen, that is too sad for words. I will share this prayer request at my devotions group on Thursday.
Glad you enjoyed Mary Ann Grove’s presentation Maureen. Our rational minds want to limit what God can do among us mortals, even though we know quite well that miracles aren’t limited to Biblical times.
Blessed Easter…and Passover to all.
John left this morning. I managed to keep my tears to the minimum but miss him so much. Bill and I keep saying well it could be worse. My eyes are bothering me quite a bit so I am really laying about keeping them closed. Lovely day today. happy holiday to all
